My deepest condolences to the King family. I have known this dear lady all of my life.
Her husband Deacon Clarence King and my father, James A. Carson were close friends and sang in the Gospel choir, Male Chorus and the Gospel Ever Ready’s Quartet group back in the 1950’s.
So many wonderful memories I have of this wonderful family growing up in Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mr. King and my father died on the same day, two years apart.
Their son, Clarence Jr. and my brother Sterling Shepherd grew up together as young people at Tabernacle and were best friends.
I would visit Mrs. King occasionally in the nursing home and she would always end our visit with these words: I hope to see you in heaven. What a time that is going to be!
Though my heart is saddened of her passing, I am assured that she was ready to meet the Lord in peace.
To Mark, I unable to attend the services due to my work schedule, but please know we love you and we loved Mrs. King, your grandmother!
From your friends, Kathy Carson and the Shepherd Family.
